Located in the heart of Mangalore, the Sharavu Mahaganapathi Temple is an ancient shrine dedicated to Lord Ganesha and Lord Shiva, reputedly over 800 years old, renowned for its serene atmosphere amidst the city bustle. The legend says the site arose after a king’s errant arrow (“shara”) led to the installation of a Shiva Lingam and later Ganesha worship, hence the name “Sharavu”.
